“French and Spanish are our gateway to travel, culture and unending opportunities”
At St. Patrick’s High School, it is our belief that every pupil should avail of the opportunity to study a foreign language and develop their interest in the culture of other nations. Last week, we were delighted to welcome Miss Amy Kerr to the French and Spanish departments to speak to Yr10 pupils about the benefits of choosing a Modern Language at GCSE. Amy is currently studying Law with Spanish at Queens University Belfast and is on a year’s placement at the ‘Universidad de Zaragoza’ where she is reading Law through Spanish and teaches part- time.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed Amy’s presentation as she shared her journey, which helped them to explore the possible routes a language can take them and gave them an insight into future career prospects. We wish her a safe journey back to Spain and thank her for inspiring us with her knowledge.
